THE FACES BEHIND THE ARCA VISION
Henrique Sa Pessoa, a key player in Lisbon’s thriving scene, and hot off the back of being named in the top 100 Best Chef’s in the World, as well as receiving the highest New Entry accolade at the recent Best Chef Awards held in Amsterdam, Michelin-starred Portuguese chef Henrique Sá Pessoa is the concept chef for ARCA Amsterdam, JOIA Restaurant, Bar & Rooftop in London, and he’s famous for his two Michelin starred restaurant Alma, as well as Tapsico that are both in Lisbon.
With Henrique as ARCA’s concept chef, his long-serving protégé Rodrigo Silva as Head Chef both be lead the ARCA team in the kitchen on a day-to-day basis having worked with Henrique for nearly 10 years. When asking Henrique why did he bring the duo to ARCA it was simple, “everyone looks up to Rodrigo, I can always count on Rodrigo to get stuck in, always with a smile on his face and implicitly trust him with the ARCA concept”, and as for Rodrigo “Some chefs you can train as much as you can, but some just have this amazing natural ability to cook amazing things and that is Henrique, he is naturally talented.”
